Kristin Muff
Founder and President
Chairman of the Board
Kristin Muff is founder and president of the Gary Jones Association. She also serves as chairman of the board of directors. Kristin oversees the corporate strategy for the Gary Jones Association, manages daily operations and serves as the company spokesperson. Kristin is a leading advocate and thought leader on the issues of elder abuse and third-party visitation rights. She also actively lobbies for stronger elder abuse laws nationwide, with the intention of expanding laws in all 50 states to include emotional abuse, particularly in terms of isolation and verbal abuse. She actively seeks to pass new legislation in all 50 states regarding third-party visitation rights for terminally ill or elderly parents and their adult children. Kristin is a member of the Elder Justice Coalition and the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA).
Additionally, Kristin is the founder and president of Jones Public Relations, a PR agency with offices in San Francisco, Calif., and Omaha, Neb. Throughout her career, Kristin has provided strategic counsel and media relations expertise to companies such as Network General, Workday, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, QUALCOMM, Pay By Touch, PeopleSoft, Plantronics, Sun Microsystems, VeriFone and OQO computers (www.oqo.com). Kristin has garnered media coverage in literally all of the major business and trade publications, including Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, Investor's Business Daily, BusinessWeek, Financial Times, USA Today, InformationWeek, eWeek and InfoWorld.
Kristin has provided a lifetime of volunteer services for the Nebraska Health and Human Services system, specifically in regards to foster care.

Betty F. Malks

Board of Directors Strategic Advisor
Betty F. Malks sits on the board of directors for the Gary Jones Association, serving as a strategic advisor. Since 1997, Ms. Malks, as department director, has spearheaded the creation of the Santa Clara County's Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS), bringing together all adult programs under one umbrella, including Adult Protective Services, Public Administrator/Guardian/Conservator, In-Home Supportive Services, and Senior Nutrition. Ms. Malks also has been appointed as the North American Regional Representative for the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA) and is a member of the Education Committee of the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (NCPEA). Ms. Malks brings a wealth of experience and serves as a strategic advisor to the Gary Jones Association.
Additional accomplishments include:
- Spearheaded the Joint Strategic Plan for Aging Services between the City of San Jose and Santa Clara County 2005
- Convener of Leadership Group for Strategic Plan Implementation
- Architect of the FAST model (financial abuse rapid response team) which has recovered/prevented the loss of $120,317 million of client assets
- Recipient of many local, national, and international awards and commendations for FAST
- National Advisory Board Member, New York Academy of Medicine/ Hartford Foundation, 2005- Present
- Recipient of the President's Award from the National Association of Adult Protective Services Administrators in recognition of outstanding contribution to the field of Adult Protective Services 2004
- Recipient, Woman of Achievement Award 2001 for Public Service by Women's Fund of Silicon Valley
- Commendation, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors 2000
- Created a number of community partnerships including Santa Clara County Law Enforcement Protocol, the FIT team (financial institutions team), and the Elder Death Review Team
Ms. Malks has also published several articles, one appearing in Journal of Gerontological Social Work entitled Elder Abuse Prevention: A Case Study of the Santa Clara County Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST) Program, 2002 and another in the Journal of Elder Abuse and Neglect entitled Combating Elder Financial Abuse – A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to a Growing Problem 2005.

Kim Turner
Board of Directors Secretary and Chair of the Development Committee
Kim Turner sits on the board of directors for the Gary Jones Association. She serves as secretary of the board and heads up the development committee. She oversees all fundraising and grant writing activities for the organization. Kim also identifies new elder abuse education and prevention programs to be implemented by the Gary Jones Association.
Additionally, Kim has more than 15 years of commercial insurance experience. She currently works for KPD Insurance & Risk Solutions, where she is responsible for overall supervision of large accounts and workflow. At KPD, Kim is charged with marketing, risk management & coverage placement, premium accounting, and general day-to-day interactions with KPD clients.
She also has owned and operated a licensed day care center, which accommodated 30 full-time children. Responsible for overall operations of the center, Kim managed staffing and human resources, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. She also was responsible for maintaining relationships with banking, CPA, and legal professionals.
Kim, a sports enthusiast, volunteers as a middle school girls' volleyball and basketball coach. Her hobbies include sports of all kinds, gardening, bicycling and bible study.
